Unfortunate Political One-Liners

TIME Magazine has a list of the Top Ten Unfortunate Political One-Liners. These are things politicians said but later wish they hadn't.

There are no examples from the 2008 Election campaign but I reckon John McCain's 'the fundamentals of our economy are strong' would be a strong contender.  

Language note: A one-liner is "a short joke, especially one of a single sentence or a short remark intended as a sound bite" (source: Wiktionary).
