The Mail reports that Australia has thrown down the gauntlet to the British Olympic team with a provocative viral campaign bearing the slogan: "Let's rip the Brits to bits":
The 80 second internet video features an actor dressed up as a chav who taunts Australians about their failure to win as many medals as the British team at the Beijing Games.
The hooded youth, who appears in front of a photograph of the Queen, tells Australians: "You haven't got what it takes ... the only gold you will be picking up is from a chocolate wrapper."
The clip ends with the slogan, "Let's rip the Brits to bits in London 2012." The Australian government, who backed the film, have denied it is meant as an insult to the British. Full story >>
