Every baby born in Britain will be saddled with a £17,000 debt thanks to runaway Government borrowing, David Cameron claimed today.
The Conservative leader said the next generation will pay a heavy price for Gordon Brown’s spending splurge.
He unveiled a hard-hitting new poster campaign showing a new-born baby – and the stark message “Dad’s nose. Mum’s eyes. Gordon Brown’s debt”.
By 2013, record Government borrowing means Britain’s national debt will smash through the £1TRILLION mark for the first time in history.
This works out as £17,000 for every man, woman and child in the country.
Over the course of their lifetime, every new-born child will pay around £67,000 in interest on the UK’s massive debt. Read full story >>
